Hi, Folks,

You may be interested in a Conference organised by Catholic Family History Society (North West Region) on Saturday, March 12th 2016, 11.00 a.m. to 4.0p.m..

It will take place at the Salford Diocesan Archives, St Augustine’s, Grosvenor Square, M15 6BW.

It is entitled "RESEARCHING CATHOLIC FAMILY HISTORY (including using Internet Sources)" and will be led by Dr Brenda Hustler.

The Conference will start with Registration and Coffee at 11.00 a.m. Dr Brenda Hustler, an experienced Family Historian, will give a Presentation in the morning and the afternoon.

Lunch is included and there will be time for discussion, help with research and viewing records in the Archives. 
Members and non-members welcome.

Cost for the day: £12.00 including lunch and all refreshments (payable in advance).

1.00 – 2.15 - Practical examples and workshop session: looking at the documents – Wills, Inventories, Quarter Sessions, etc. ‘Filling in the gaps’ task.

2.15 – 2.45 Tea and coffee break
2.45 – 4.00 Further workshop session: looking at the documents – Land conveyances, leases etc. Use of a ‘letter grid’ for more complex documents.

You are warmly invited to the forthcoming History, Philosophy and Politics seminar Wednesday 10 February, when the speaker will be Iain Adams from the School of Sport and Outdoor Studies on ‘The football charge at the Battle of Loos, 25 September 1915.’

​The paper provides a nice inter-disciplinary study of memory, war, sport and social history.  The seminar takes place from 5-6 pm in Livesey House 302. All are welcome – staff, students, visitors.
