Stockport Historical Society is pleased to welcome members of the Lancashire Local History Federation to learn something of the town’s history and to sample some of its diverse attractions.
Programme
09.30 – 10.00 : Registration/coffee
10.00 – 10.05 : Welcome/notices
10.05 – 10.30 : Mrs Enid Price: An introduction to Stockport’s history
10.30 – 11.15 : Dr. Peter Wadsworth: The Strawberry Recording Studios 1967-93
11.15 – 11.30 : Interval/coffee
11.30 – 12.15 : Mr. Norman Redhead: The archaeology of the Stockport area
12.15 – 12.45 : Annual General Meeting followed by afternoon arrangements
12.45 – 14.00 : Cold buffet Lunch with tea/coffee, fruit juice/water (included).
14.00 - : Group visits in Stockport
There is a free car park just off Greek Street, behind the Art Gallery. Limited on-street parking is also available nearby.
Fee: £14.50 (including buffet lunch)
