Jim Lancaster of our Bury Branch has pointed out that the link we gave you to the List of Mills in Lancashie in Wikipedia does not list all the mills in Lancashire - none listed for Bury.

My 3 x great grandfather Lawrence Stead, with his brother Henry, are shown in several directories in the 1880s as proprietors of several mills in Ramsbottom, including Hope, Irwell Bridge, Nuttall Lane, Garden & Railway Mills. I would appreciate any information people may have as to the locations of the last 3 mills which are not specifically named in the Wikipedia list. Thanks.
